All hail the BB Cream

Skeptical as I was about introducing something new into my daily beauty routine there was something about BB cream that made me want to try it out. Whether it was the great ads or it's boastful claims I was eager to try it out. It really hasn't disappointed me. I used to wear foundation every day but have swapped it over to BB cream instead. It covers, it's smooth, it makes my skin appear flawless whilst still looking natural. Somewhat like a tinted moisturiser however it boasts beneficial

Although BB cream seems like quite a recent thing in the cosmetic department it was actually formulated in the 1960's and has been very popular in the Korean and East Asian markets especially because BB creams targeted in those regions contain skin whitening elements. Fast forward a couple of decades and now every brand has its own BB cream leaving you wondering which one you should invest in.

That's where I come in. I've become a little obsessed with it that I have tried and tested quite a few. Save yourself the hassle and try these brands out first. You won't regret it!

Loreal Nude Magique
This was the first BB cream I tried. When it comes out you'll be sitting there going.....wth? Coming out in a blue bead like texture it quickly turns into a skin colour which conforms to your colour as soon as you start rubbing it in. It did leave my skin a little shiny but add some powder and you're good to go!
$26.95 AUD from Priceline

Rimmel 9 in 1

With this one a little goes a long way! You only need to apply a very small amount. It has great coverage and really makes my skin feel and look amazing. It also lasts a really long time! For extra coverage I usually apply with some undereye concealer and red reducing concealer around my nose with some extra powder to set it in.  $12.95AUD from Priceline.

Maybelline Dream Fresh
Leaves your skin glowing, feeling great and looking even better! Covers like a foundation without feeling like one. It's like and feels more like a moisturizer. I'm in love...
$15.95 AUD from Priceline.

There are so many others I can't wait to try and as soon as you do, you'll know about it!

For now give one of these ago and let me know how you feel and what you think!

Animals

Love animals? Well now you can let the whole world know with these cheeky 3D lifelike animal shirts from US shirt designer Michael McGloin's company The Mountain. Starting off with pups only, after the brands success in this breed of animals the shirts have now expanded to everything from cats to bears to tigers. The tops feature extreme close up images of the animals faces front and centre and project scarily real-like 3D images. The new Christopher Cane? Maybe just maybe...

Would you try this look?

Oscars 2013 wrap up!

I look forward to the Oscars every year. Not only because it's a celebration of films greatest (I always dreamt of becoming an actress) but because it is the most glamourous of all red carpets. The stars walk to red carpet in the most divine dresses and suits and really put in the effort to look their absolute best. It was too hard picking my favourites or narrowing it down so I've put together a little wrap up of the stand out looks from the night. I hope you enjoy x

Jennifer Lawrence in Dior Haute Couture. The perfect dress for the best actress winner. Princess-like but still keeping it real. The hair, the make-up, the shape. Perfect, perfect, perfect. 9/10

Stacey Keibler in Naeem Khan. With her model proportions it will be a very rare occasion for this girl to get it wrong. Doing sequin in a not so traditional way this dress has the perfect amount of glitz and glam without onlookers needing their sunglasses. The belt cuts the dress perfectly giving the right amount of shape and form it needs so you don't get lost in the pattern. The hair and subtle jewels are perfect additions. 10/10

Halle Berry in Versace. I'm not sure this hits the mark for me, there was just no...'wow factor'. I think it ages her a little and she's still a hot mama who could pull of anything! The ombre effect isn't exciting and the big shoulders just don't work for me. Overall....I'm just very unexcited. 4/10

Sandra Bullock in Elie Saab. Don't get me wrong, I LOVE the dress and I think her body looks flawless in it. I just don't think the hair suits the overall look, something a little more Stacey Keibler like would have worked perfectly and girl, get rid of that bag! 7/10

Zoe Saldana in Alexis Mabille Couture. Nice, different, unusual. I think the bottom half and top half may be a little mismatched. I wish the front of the dress went right to the floor. She looks amazing but overall it's nothing too special for me. 6/10

Naomi Watts in Armani Prive. One word to describe this: AMAZING. She got the overall look down pat. The hair, the jewels! I want to ravage this dress make it a little shorter and go out partying in it! Best dressed! 10/10 showing the Americans how it's done!

Anne Hathaway in Prada. Boring....I'm sure she had designers chucking dresses at her feet. I just don't feel this was the right dress for the oscars or for her age. 3/10

Jennifer Garner in Gucci. Cutest couple award goes to these two! Props to them for outlasting the usual 5 day marriages in Hollywood. They compliment each other so well but if I don't say so myself Mrs Affleck steals the show in this Gucci number. Argo who? 10/10

Kristen Stewart in Reema Acra.
1. Get a tailor.
2. Get a hairdresser
2/10

Chris Pine in Ermenegildo Zegna. I wish it wasn't double breasted. It doesn't take away from how adorable he is though. 5/10

Jennifer Anniston in Valentino. The only reason she isn't making the best dressed list everywhere is because of her hair. Had she opted to put it up people would be dying over how amazing she looks. I'm looking past the hair and focusing in on that amazing gown. She looks effortlessly amazing. Good on her for finally settling down with a gorgeous guy and enjoying life. I think now if the perfect time for her to let her hair down! 9/10

Chris Evans in Gucci. Take note men! this is how you should all be dressing. 10/10

Nicole Kidman in L'Wren Scott. She looks like the star that she is. It's a risk for her to walk out in something so glitzy and tight but I think she pulls it off! 9/10

Jennifer Hudson in Roberto Cavalli. Damnnnnnn girllll! Look at her body! I think this would have been extra amazing if she took out the extensions and put her hair up but besides for that this is a great dress to show off her new tiny body! 8/10

Joseph Gordon-Levitt in Gucci. Besides the fact that I have had a huge crush on this stud since 10 things I hate about you, I could give you more than 10 reasons why I think he looks drop dead gorgeous in this get up. yum... 10/10

Amy Adams in Oscar De La Renta. There have been mixed reviews on this dress. I love how she looks like a princess and usually I don't like the feather look on the bottom but in this case it works. I do think if this were in a different colour it would have taken the dress to a whole new level but regardless she still looks stunning. 7/10

Reece Witherspoon in Louis Vuitton. In the mix of neutral colours out came Reece in the pop of colour. The colour suits her so much and the shape of the dress makes this one of the more and age appropriate dresses of the night! She probably could have done with a huge diamond necklace but still looking like a hot mama! 8/10

Happy first post.

It's my first post! Hooray! Whilst I have had other blogs before, this one is going to be my little baby. I will nurture it and look after it and give it lost of attention that it needs. I will not give up on it if no one reads it because some day it could turn into something great. At the end of the day this is my virtual diary that I will look back on one day and think....What on earth was I wearing?!

Now to the goodies....
Dress: Topshop
Shoes: Mossimo (these were purchased at Target in the USA)
Bag: Rachel Zoe

Until next time,
T.Bailey x
